Who Are We?

Volunteers who have received a minimum of 40 hours of in-depth training from educators and specialists from universities, agencies, nature centers, museums, and other organizations. Our training was customized to focus on our own local ecosystems, wildlife, native plants, and natural resource management. In addition, we pursue a minimum of 8 hours of advanced training each year in areas of special interest.

What Do We Do?

In return for our training, we donate at least 40 hours a year of service in the form of community education, demonstration projects, and habitat restoration and improvement.

Where Are We?

We live in Aransas, Calhoun, Jackson, Matagorda, Refugio, San Patricio, and Victoria Counties—The Mid-Coast Chapter area.

Who Do We Work With?

The TMN program is sponsored by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and supported by more than 180 local organizations. In the Mid-Coast Chapter, our primary partners are Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, Research Vessel Karma, Lake Texana State Park, Nature Conservancy of Texas: Mad Island Marsh Preserve & South Matagorda Island, Texas Zoo, and Rob & Bessie Welder Wildlife Foundation.
